Will be travelling to Spain in May this year. Just in the process of planning our itinerary and would love any suggestions on what places to visit. Was thinking of starting in Madrid?? Thanks for any ideas

Barcelona is the place to visit in Spain.
You can take day trips if you ever finish the many things to do in Barcelona.
It is on the sea with beautiful beaches, has many parks and museums, the city itself is a museum with strange buildings, the Olympic park, nice subway, good food, not too hot with the sea breeze.

If it"s art and architecture that you crave, the best places to visit in Spain are Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and Granada. ...

Hi,

I would certainly agree with manishfusion that Barcelona is the place to visit.

Barcelona has a lot of historical places you can vist like Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila etc.

You can go walks down Les Rambles and watch the street shows they are amazing but a note of caution watch out for pick pockets there. you could also take a walk Parc Guell its a great place to see the Gaudi Monuments.

Not forgetting of course that there is the marina and beaches too and great food to suit all tastes.
